Module 3: Overview
This module provides a detailed, step-by-step guide to the Crisis Management Action Plan, a structured framework that guides an organisation through every phase of a crisis. Beginning with an overview of the Plan’s objectives and its alignment with the Crisis Management Life Cycle, the module explains how each stage Pre-activation, Activation, Management, and Deactivation is divided into eight actionable phases.
Guiding Strategic Response and Organisational Resilience
It covers the Go/No-Go decision process and the tools used to activate the Crisis Management Team (CMT), including the Incident Classification Guide.
Lessons walkthrough team selection, mobilisation, and the importance of the Initial Team Briefing to establish direction, roles, and early actions. Subsequent phases focus on implementing pre-planned and dynamic responses, conducting status meetings, and assessing evolving information.
The module also emphasises the crucial role of communication, encompassing stakeholder engagement, media coordination, and internal updates. As the crisis stabilises, the CMT monitors progress, adjusts plans, and prepares for deactivation.
The final lesson ensures proper closure, including documentation, equipment recovery, financial reconciliation, and post-crisis review. This module ensures that leaders and teams are equipped to respond decisively and strategically in high-pressure situations.
